Mental health issues are confusing and too often misunderstood. I am passionate about giving everyone the best tools to face these challenges.

Social media is an amazing platform spread the truth about mental health science and treatment. That's why you'll find me tweeting about important news articles, research opportunities, and treatments that work.

I know from first hand experience that social media and technology can also bring new challenges. I have heard many stories of painful experiences online. In 2016, I was given a chance to share ideas on how to face social media with integrity.  In my TEDxUNC talk Picture Perfect: #bodygoals, I described how you can cultivate self compassion and have a healthy body image even in this new age of sharing selfies.

My work has been featured in the Huffington Post, Women's Health, Teen Vogue, Self Magazine, Health.com, CNN,  WRAL, and Sirius Dr. Radio.

Advocacy

I am proud to serve as a Project Heal Champion. Project Heal is an non-profit organization dedicated to providing treatment scholarships for people with eating disorders. Kristina and Liana do incredible work to make sure that everyone can access treatment.
